Health finance organisation delivers NHS e-learning
3 November 2006 The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) has partnered with Information Transfer and Seminar Learning System to launch a new e-learning service aimed at NHS professionals and staff throughout the UK. The HFMA e-learning courses were developed by Information Transfer consultants in Seminar Author and the service went online in early July. The courses are delivered using the Seminar Learning System’s Knowledge Centre learning management software. "Seminar Learning System’s Enterprise Knowledge Centre was built for just this sort of model," said Matthew Borg of Information Transfer. "It allows organizations with particular subject-matter expertise to create e-learning materials and make them accessible to their members or customers via the Internet." "Improving financial management is one of the biggest challenges that the NHS is currently facing, but it's not just finance professionals that need to ensure they keep on top of their CPD," said Martin Walsh of HFMA. "It's becoming increasingly important for non-finance staff to get to grips with the finances and to update and develop their financial competence." "HFMA's e-learning can deliver quality content to the desktop of everyone in the organisation through the Internet, with the ability for each organisation to track completions and competencies where required," he said. Current subjects published or in development include Budgeting, NHS Financing in England, Practice-based Commissioning and Payment by Results. The service is available at http://www.hfmaelearning.org.uk. Information Transfer works in partnership with other organisations that see the value in providing their expertise through an online e-learning portal. The firm is currently working with a publisher of financial compliance materials to deliver training to thousands of people working in banks, law firms and other regulated areas throughout the UK. |
